The rectangular stuff-over seat above four pegged baluster-turned legs joined by conforming turned H-form stretchers;
Now recovered in an antique velvet very close in color
Note : The stretchers are connected to the legs in the Continental manner of “round block into square block”. Most English block joinery is” square into square”. However, in the late 17th century, many French Huguenot craftsmen had recently immigrated to England, resulting in some overlapping of constructing techniques.
