Still life pictures have always appealed to me. I have a weakness for them and buy them regularly. I do not know what it is about them that appeals, perhaps the large ones seen in the upper hall at my childhood home; a long time, and  dimly held, visual which appeals to a distant childhood memory.  

This early 19th-century still life picture is somewhat rare on tole. Pictures like this just do not appear on the market anymore.  It is a nice touch to see the retailers label on the back.
